Dirty Vandal Graffiti and tagging resource book

A 60 page graffiti and tagging resource book, that documents various locations from around the world.

When I explore new cities, I find myself documenting the graffiti that often goes unnoticed—the dense clusters of tags on doors, walls, and utility panels, where years of ink and paint build up into something organic and unpredictable. These markings, made by individuals from different backgrounds and times, accumulate into a visual record of presence and expression. Together, they create a layered, ever-changing archive of the streets.

Graffiti and tagging are visual languages-coded, improvised, and ever-evolving. Found in cities across the world, these markings transform public spaces into layered canvases of identity, protest, and artistic expression.
This book serves as a reference guide to the diverse world of tags and graffiti, documenting styles, techniques, and cultural influences from different regions. Whether bold or subtle, legible or abstract, each tag represents an artist’s signature and a city’s unique visual rhythm.

By examining these markings, we gain insight into the underground networks, artistic movements, and personal expressions that shape urban environments. This collection is not just about aesthetics-it’s about understanding the role of graffiti in contemporary culture, its place in public discourse, and its significance in the ongoing dialogue of city life.

Use this book as a tool for recognition, interpretation, and appreciation of the unseen voices that speak through walls.
