Music Photography Awards 2023

I have been commissioned by the legendary Abbey Road Studios to design and create a collection of ten trophies for the highly anticipated Music Photography Awards 2023. These exclusive awards, each crafted using archive reels from Abbey Road Studios, will be presented to the winners on September 21, 2023, marking a historic union of music and art.

Abbey Road Studios, renowned as the world’s most celebrated recording studio and a symbol of musical innovation and creativity, handpicked Urban Punkz to infuse my distinctive artistic vision into the creation of these prestigious awards.

The MPA, an annual event organized by Abbey Road Studios, stand as a testament to the enduring connection between music and visual artistry. This prestigious competition invites photographers from around the world to capture the essence of music through their lenses.

The judging panel for the Music Photography Awards 2023 features an array of influential figures, including esteemed photographer, publisher, and director Rankin, along with notable personalities such as Cat Burns, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Vicky Grout, Karen Binns, Eric Johnson, Matthew Josephs, Nakyung Han, and Mae Muller. Additionally, Abbey Road Studios’ photographer in residence, Simon Wheatley, will join the panel to evaluate entries, particularly in the Underground Scenes category.
